Sources and method

The two agreements differ on the number that matters most. BCCFU pays travel time outside a Studio Zone at straight time, capped at half an hour a day (5.03(a)). The DGC pays it as working time with no cap in the same clause (22.6(c)). That is why the agreement is the first question and nothing is preselected.

BCCFU 5.04 — provided transportation must be used. An employee excused from it at their own request travels at their own expense: no travel time pay, no mileage. Where the employer instead pays for a personal vehicle, mileage runs from the nearest Studio Zone limit to the location and back.

The rate table — four rates inside one term, identical in both agreements: $0.35 from April 1, 2025, $0.43 from April 6, 2025, $0.48 from April 5, 2026, and $0.55 from April 4, 2027 (BCCFU 5.02/5.04; DGC 22.6(b)). The date you enter decides the money. These four figures are awaiting their visual check against the agreement PDFs, which is why every result currently says estimate only.

BCCFU 5.03(b) — travel on a day with no work is its own calculation: the greater of a four-hour allowance or actual time travelled, never more than eight hours, and a second consecutive travel day is paid as a day worked at no less than minimum call.

DGC 22.6(c), non-work days — a maximum of one day’s pay; on sixth days, seventh days, or holidays, the greater of the daily or pro-rated weekly rate (including over-scale) or all hours travelled. A day’s pay is a wage this site never asks for, so the tool names the rule and reports the hours instead of inventing a dollar figure.

BCCFU 4.05 — time is counted in one-tenth hour increments and any portion of a tenth is paid as a whole one, so BCCFU hours here are rounded up. The DGC does not state its increment in Article 22, so DGC hours are shown unrounded rather than borrowing a rule it didn’t write.
