Sources and method
This returns hours, not money. Every figure in Article Four is a multiple of the Employee’s straight time contracted hourly rate — a number this site never asks for and has no business holding. What you get is the hours in each band and the straight-time-equivalent total, which is what payroll multiplies by whatever the rate actually is. It also means the answer stays right when the rate changes.
Article 4.06 — days one through five of the work week. Hours after eight pay at one and a half times, up to and including the twelfth hour; after twelve at two times, up to and including the fifteenth; after fifteen at three times.
Article 4.03 — the sixth day worked. The first eight hours are already at one and a half times, not straight time. After eight it is two times to the twelfth hour, then three times.
Article 4.04 — the seventh day worked. Two times for the first eight hours, three times after that. There is no straight-time band at all.
Article 4.02 — the work week is any five consecutive days out of any seven, and each Employee may have a different and distinct one. That is why the tool asks which day this is instead of working it out: a Saturday is not automatically a sixth day, and this site takes no dates.
Article 4.05 — time is counted in tenths of an hour, and any part of a tenth is paid as a whole one, so rounding is up. A day that starts on one calendar day and runs into the next is credited entirely to the day it started.
Article 4.08 — an over-scale Employee may have agreed that pay above scale is applied against overtime. Where that applies the hours are unchanged; whether they are paid on top is not. The tool says so rather than implying the number is always additive.
This is crew under BCCFU, and that is not a detail. Performers are under UBCP/ACTRA, whose overtime carries a Maximum Compounding Effect provision (A1204) with no BCCFU equivalent at all. Running a performer through this produces a number that looks authoritative and is not theirs.
